NOVEMBER – DECEMBER NEWS LETTER 2008
| This message has been sent to you to alert you to specific spiritual warfare. Thanks for your prayers and participation.
Pastor Chuck & Arlyn Beloved Man and Brethren, I am so glad because God gave me a chance to minister and also he gave me a good life. Recently I went out to minister in Mozambique starting from 13th November 2008 to 29th November 2008. I have seen God healing many people and serving multitude. 529 people were served in my own home village. The best thing is that my own mother also received Christ as her personal saviour on this day. On this trip I was with my friend from Germany, Eckhard Tiekoetter, who taught people about faith in Malawi and Mozambique. He also taught much about power of prayer. Many people loved Eckhard teachings. All these are clear Manestations that 2008 was really a year of God’s children. This is really fulfilling that I promised by God on 20th July 1996 that I will serve my God all days of my life. To Him be the glory PRAYER Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank you because of your love upon your children. Thank you for the life we have in Jesus. Thank you because of the good things you do to us every day I may honour, glory be your name, amen. Prayer is powerful. Our brother Eckhard Tiekoetter prayed for rains in Malawi and Mozambique and today we are living testimony that we have very good rains. Surely we shall have good crops this growing season. My question is do you trust power of prayer? WHAT IS PRAYER? Prayer is talking to God. This is when you can thank him or telling him about your problems. Prayer strengthens our relationship with God. Whenever you have issues you surely have some one to tell about it and this is God. Prayer makes you strong even in times of despair. Paul and Silas sang songs of praise in prison, until the gates were open and the chains around their legs fell off. This shows power of prayer and faith. Paul and Silas knew that God was on their side. Love and be in prayer life and trust Jesus at all times Acts 16:10-18. PROBLEMS What are problems? Problems are things that make a person no to be stable and looses concentration. Devil is the one who brings problems, through fellow people i.e. spouses, Christians and others. The Devil always wants to find way to take you off track so that you are never on line with God. This causes you to loose God’s glory. However, Jesus say never let your heart troubled. John 14:1 Does God allow us to go into problems? Yes God does allow us to encounter problems so that he sees how much we love him. No child is promoted to a higher class before sitting for examinations. This is the same. When we meet trials and temptations, it only means we are just being examined so that we may go to another level of glory in our Lord. The bigger the trial the bigger the success. Trust in God all times, no matter what you are going through. If you have been facing problems in your life, do not be despair, God will give you his hidden treasures and you will rejoice in the year 2009. This is only true to those that love truth and honest. Rejoice and be expectant of good things, many healings, sweet fellowship, a lot of wealth, may goodies, says the Lord. PRAYER Father in the name of Jesus I pray because of your children who love to be honest and trust your word. Open their eyes so that they see what you have prepared for them in the year 2009. Let them have faith to receive the year 2009 in Jesus name. Forgive us all our sins we committed in 2008. We promise to walk by word in the coming year of 2009 in Jesus name, Amen. Do as God asks you to and receive the year 2009 with gratitude. May the favour of God be upon you in this year 2009. CHURCH NEEDS Why is a church important? A church is so important because this is where people go and get encouraged. A lot of churches in villages have no good roofs and this is a big problem, as we are in rainy season. It is important that we should find plastic papers to cover the roof so that the people are kept dry when it is raining during church services. Because of poverty churches can not buy the plastic papers. Currently we need 30 rolls of papers which got at $45 each. If God may speak to you about it please do not delay to help us this issue . We are also in need of Bibles especially to be distributed to church pastors and elders. The pastors are very poor and can not manage to get $8 to buy a bible. Other pastors travel 150 kms a foot to preach the gospel. To help them, go further with the work of God, they need bicycles so that they travel easily and preach. Bicycles costs $100 each. ORPHANAGE Beloved Brothers in Christ, what is an orphanage? This is a place where we keep children who lost their parents in different ways. These are children who do not have food, clothing but also have no one to take them to school. So God speaks to people to take the responsibility of such children . I am one of such people who was spoken by God to help such vulnerable children. On August 18 1998, God spoke to me to start taking care of orphans. After we had prayed about it we started the work and God has been faithful in helping us. We currently have 120 children at our orphanage. The orphanage is called Hope Children Center. The biggest challenges at this orphanage are, day-to-day food, school fees, feeding and clothing. God willing we are expecting to have at least 1000 orphans. We believe that of these kids have good education, we are going to have a better tomorrow. In our country, 80% people live under poverty life. Most women sell their bodies to find money to help themselves. The end result is that they get HIV and AIDS which eventually kills them living their children as orphans. Therefore, there is a need that some one spoken by God must take this responsibility of taking care of these young ones in Jesus name so that with them we build a better nation. Because of seeing how important it is to take care of these needy children , three of us who are busy helping these young ones every day would like to travel to USA so that we share our vision, challenges to many people and organizations so that they may also take part in what we are doing. We expect to start our trip in the month of February 2009. We have a very big faith that God shall speak to many people about this and will surely give us a hand in sustaining our vision. HOW CAN YOU HELP? You can help by sending your material i.e. money, food and clothing to this orphanage. You can also help us by sparing your time and pray for the orphanage and members of staff. Remember, Abraham did not know that he was helping angels of the Lord until they promised him of Isaac. Mathews 25:30-40. Be assured that if you help orphans and poor people you are investing in heaven to God. The Bible tells us not to get tired in doing good things. Glatians 6:9 Please remember to pray for orphans in Malawi and Mozambique. May good God fill you with his love and grace so that you start desiring to serve him by helping the needy. GOOD WISHES
May the good God be with you as you are entering the New Year 2009. Have faith that you are going to prosper in this year in Jesus name. Be prepared to receive by grace and love from his glory. Realize that this year 2009 has been given to you together with its goodies. My advice is that you start thanking him after you read this newsletter. Join hands with your family members, and sing songs of praise to give honour and glory to him. I wish you a very good 2009. Let it be a year of supernatural abundance full of surprises and grace. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. If you have any questions or comment or suggestions, please write back to me. I would be so grateful to heat from you. Be fast in doing good things because Jesus is coming soon. The world shall pass away but the word of God shall remain forever. May God bless you all for spending your precious time reading this article, Amen.

January 2009 – Newsletter from Prison Fellowship Uganda Eastern Region
| This message has been sent to you to alert you to specific spiritual warfare. Thanks for your prayers and participation.
Pastor Chuck & Arlyn
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, A very Happy New Year to you from PFU in Mbale, Eastern Uganda! Please forgive me for writing to you like this but I felt that you might like to hear a little bit about what is happening with this much needed ministry in eastern Uganda. As you may be aware, the number of men and women held in prisons in Uganda has continued to grow in recent years. In addition, nearly sixty per cent
However, this ministry is not easy and few local people are willing or able to follow Jesus’ command in the great commission in this particular field For many years, this challenging ministry has been spearheaded in Eastern Uganda by Mary Eteu, often under extremely difficult circumstances. Mary My name is Martin Hayter. I am a missionary from the UK who has been living and working in Uganda for nearly two years. I have been called by God to I believe that this is an extremely valuable and fruitful ministry. Over the last two years, I have accompanied Mary into a number of different prisons and Just over the last couple of months, I have had the privilege of visiting three prisons with Mary. It has been very exciting to see the gospel fruitfully
In accordance with my calling, I have sought to help Mary with this ministry. By qualification, I am a professional administrator and, in recent years, have To put it very candidly, this highly commendable ministry is being restrained and hampered by a lack of financial resources. According to the I would like to let you know that this letter is not a general circular. If you have received this letter, it is because you are one of a relatively small I would very humbly like to ask you whether you would prayerfully consider whether you are being called to financially support this ministry, Thank you so much for taking the time to read this letter. My prayer for all of us is that 2009 will be a year when we come to know and experience the love God bless you, Martin |
Kim’s November-December 2008 Update!
| This message has been sent to you to alert you to specific spiritual warfare. Thanks for your prayers and participation.
Pastor Chuck & Arlyn Hey there, it’s a little lengthy but exciting! Do hope you are encouraged! I thank God for a great month! In November I went to Trinidad and spoke for the week in the YWAM Discipleship Training School. I also met with some pastors I hadn’t seen for many years and had some wonderful fellowship with them. I spoke in different churches and challenged one church to reach out to the Seven Sphere’s of Society, giving a plan of action which later they said they were incorporating into their New Years plan for their church. I left Trinidad very tired but just in time to finish setting up for the up and coming trip into Chinoweing and Imbaimadai. We also are working on our new building. Oh I can only thank God for His wonderful and awesome financial provision that pushed us way ahead in our construction. A YWAM Ministry in Germany led by Dr.Carsten and Christine had visited us many years ago, got a hold of me and said they wanted to bless us. I can’t tell you how surprised, blessed, thankful we were at this unexpected blessing. We finished the floor of the building and then proceeded to build two of the rooms. I can’t wait, as the office presently is in my bedroom and we really need to get something more adequate! (at least I don’t have far to travel!) LOOK WHAT THE LORD IS DOING IN CHINOWEING AND IMBAIMADAI!!! “100 years ago it was prophesized that missionaries would come with the Word of God to the village of Chinoweing. When these people come, we are to receive them and Our journey began with a team of 10, six from the USA, two from YWAM and two Akawioh Indians who would serve as our translators. We flew over this vast virgin jungle for an hour and landed on top of Chi -Chi mountain where our four hour walk into the village began. It was a lesson in endurance! Once in the village we held an evening service even in spite of our apparent tiredness! One of the team members asked where the church was where we would be ministering and I pointed across the savannah and we could only laugh, realizing it was approximately a ½ mile walk away! We went and God used us in spite of our weakened state. Isn’t that what He usually does?? We ministered for the next two nights in Chinoweing and visited different homes across this vast savannah region. People were happy to receive us and have us pray for them. Our team also preformed a marriage ceremony for a young couple and dedicated three babies to Jesus! One young girl from this village desires to take our Discipleship Training School in January, requiring a BIG step of faith but if we can disciple a handful of people from Chinoweing, I believe God is going to do something amazing in this village. Sherry has literally no funds to do the school but after prayer and seeking God concerning this, we felt to go ahead and take her. While in Chinoweing I felt I needed to give a word for the village. I’ve always felt that the people were spiritually blind and God wanted to open their eyes. I spoke The team were such troupers and each brought unique gifts that made a well rounded ministry team. We then headed to Imbaimadai, taking five hours to walk across the Savannah and then down a mountain where Pastor Orin and a friend met us with the boat to take us on the two hour trip down river. I thank God for cloud cover during our walk that helped shelter us from the hot sun. We were exhausted upon arrival in Imbaimadai but still committed ourselves to have a service. This was exciting as a Rum shop owner known for bringing in prostitutes and strip tease on the landing opened up his shop doors for us to have an open air meeting. Pastor/Evangelist Norman Walker preached that night and we amazed at the newness of strength God gave him and the powerful message proclaimed to the miners and prostitutes. One young girl sat outside weeping and our team was able to minister to her along with some of the men. The next night we went to another rum shop, Mr Medonza’s palce and Pastor Charlie gave a clear message of God’s love and forgiveness in a packed shop. We believe God is breaking up the fallow ground in this place and know fruit is soon to grow! Once back in Parika, construction was still under way and we began to plan for our Christmas parties! Two financial donations made it possible to be a blessing to the unfortunate this Christmas. Sharon and her husband in Bermuda (former AIDS/HIV volunteers from Guyana) have financially blessed us so we can continue the AIDS ministry. We also will be having a big party at the hospital. Our volunteers will also go into the Children’s ward and have fun with these kids and make their day a little brighter. Through the financial blessings of Dr Kami Kandola in NWT, we were able to hold a party for the boys at Bethel Boys home and have some fun with them. We also are planning a big community party for those around us and will work with one of the local churches to make this happen. So much to say, so much to give thanks for this season. We felt that we as a mission wanted to encourage the teachers at the primary school down the road so we made them a nice hot meal and just wanted to give them words of encouragement. They told us no one has ever done this before for them and we felt more blessed just seeing their appreciation. On December 17th I will be heading home to the great white north (Canada) for Christmas this year. It will be so good to see my family and have some ‘down’ time. This girl is tired and stepping out will give me a little break. Thanks for your prayers. I do need prayer for my work permit as it expires in January and I was told they may not renew it again. Even with this word, I continue to move forward in the plans God has given us and we are preparing for our January 12th DTS. I cannot worry, only put this in the Hands of the One who says in Genesis 18:14 “is anything too difficult for the Lord?” No, in this season we remember Him who came to earth for us and still does the impossible. What a great God we serve who still his changing hearts and drawing men unto Him. May you draw near to Him this season. Blessings ‘n love Kim |
Sept – Oct 2008: W A R A M A D O N G U P D A T E
| Dear Friends,
Hey there, thanks for praying for me and our small team on this last trip into the village of Waramadong. Farida Austin (the nurse from Imbaimadai’s daughter) and I landed in Imbaimadai on Friday Sept 26th.
One young girl, Chelsea, 12 yrs old (from Imbaimadai) lit a candle before bed after being asked to by another young girl Belkeze to light it. Both girls fell asleep and a pillow caught fire which quickly spread to the mattress resulting in the whole dorm burning down killing three young girls. When we arrived in Waramadong we were housed in the clinic, provided with beds, had solar powered lights and fresh rain water. We were spoiled as we carried our hammocks thinking this is what we would sleep in. We also were allowed to eat with the kids therefore had all our meals provided. The community was still grieving and everyone had a story to tell. The local pastor organized for us to address the school to encourage the students to move forward and to forgive. We also presented the Dorm mother Susanna with a bucket full of gifts to help replace what she lost. Teri Hellewell in Canada had just sent a barrel to Guyana filled with school supplies etc and we were able to use some of that to give to the school which was a God send! 30 buckets, 30 sheets, School text books were all donated and the people were impressed with the quality of the gifts, I thank God for those who gave to help make this trip possible as it was a financial stretch. Paulette Gienow paid for my airfare to Imbaimadai and others from my church gave financial gifts, all which helped to make this trip a success. We ministered to the dorm mother who wept as she shared the ordeal. She indeed hurts deeply as she tried hard to get the girls out of the fire and yet has been blamed for so much. We ministered to two of the girls who were in the fire including Chelsea who lit the candle. Out of the 15 girls, 3 died, 2 were back at school and the other 10 had not yet returned. We wept with the hurting ones and prayed with them. My only regret was that we were not able to minister to Belkeze, the young girl from Imbaimadai who is being held responsible for the fire. (to me this doesn’t make sense as she did not light the candle.) It was a fruitful time in Waramadong although many people were questioning our motives for really being there as it is a sensitive Akawioh area. Not many visitors travel to this remote area. We headed back to Imbaimadai and I spent a few more days there. On my final day in Imbaimadai, I received word that Belkeze and her mother Violet were IN Imbaimadai. I was surprised BUT news was that they had been badly beaten. The community where Violet is living lost three of the girls in the fire and were in deep grief. The family of one of the girls decided to take justice into her own hands and ganged up on Violet and Belkeze and violently beat them with intent to kill. My heart broke as I visited Violet who was covered with bruises from head to toe and swollen. She wept as she recounted the story and I could only hold her and pray with her. I then turned to Belkeze who carries the whole blame and she was silent. She was not beaten as bad but her stomach wasn’t right. I affirmed her and told her she was NOT to blame, it was an accident, she was forgiven. This poor young 13 year old had tears in her eyes and looked at me and said “Sister Kim I do not want to go back there.” I assured her she did not have to. Both mother and daughter flew out with us back to Georgetown along with another sick patient. An ambulance was waiting for them on the airstrip upon our arrival which carried them to the public hospital. I’ve seen them since and they are doing much better and healing up. We are trying to transfer Belkeze to a different school up river (Bartica) from us. My heart really was overwhelmed by the situation, the cruelty of man, the immense need represented, both physically and spiritually. I thank God there is a God who hears and moves on our behalf. I thank you for your prayer covering as there is a lot of spiritual darkness and witchcraft in these areas. This is the little recap, a good trip and nice to make representation from the church to encourage the hurting and let them know we care. The Regional Executive Officer for the area really encouraged us to go and told me “even if you just give one pencil to each student, you being there will make a tremendous difference and make a statement. Thanks again for your prayers and support. With love, KIM |

Dear friends, five of us from YWAM Guyana, Winston, Vidya, Emese, Karen and I are heading deep into Guyana’s interior tomorrow, Saturday July 26th until August 3rd. We’d appreciate your prayers as we hold Vacation Bible School for all the kids in Imbaimadai, could be up to 70 kids. We will head down river for two or three afternoons to another village called Kambaru and hold a small VBS for the kids there (translated into Akawioh). In the evenings we’ll hold meetings for the church, focusing on discipleship. Some of the gold miners wives who are Godly women are coming to join us too to minister with us. Please pray for our community of Parika as there have been two suicides in our village this week. A 16 year old young man (the funeral is today) and another young man in his 20′s. Our desire is to bring hope and healing to our Community as suicide is so common here. (a stronghold) We’d appreciate your prayers for this. Thanks for your prayers and support. with love KIM |
CVIM – News From Liberia
| Dear Friends,
Thank you for your many prayers and financial support to assist with the mission work in Liberia. This summer has been challenging, rewarding, frustrating and fruitful. But, the Lord is always faithful to complete the work that He has begun in His people to build His church. As many of you remember, in early June we hosted a team from First Baptist Palmetto, Florida who conducted Leadership training and Vacation Bible School in Monrovia. The ministry time exciting and dynamic, and was very rewarding for the Liberians and for the members of the U.S.A. team. Less than a week after our team left Liberia, another team arrived to spend a week ministering to the children at our orphanage. This group of young folks (high school, college, and other young adults) with Kingdom Builders International came with the sole purpose of serving the children the orphanage and doing whatever work is needed. With twenty-nine children who are 3 ½ – 15 years old, there is always too much work that needs to be done. As the church, sometimes have to be reminded that the children are the future leaders of the church and the country. Our children at the Children of Hope Orphanage (COHO) were so surprised to see this group of American kids who were there to serve them. The group form Kingdom Builder’s International came prepared for the task. They cleaned, cooked, washed clothes, played soccer and had lots of fun ministering to the children. (Please see the attached file.) Jesus said that whatever you have done to the least of these, you have done it unto me. The children experienced the love of Jesus in a very special way, and we can see that they were surprised and amazed. Please pray that the Lord will use this lesson of humility to help the children see how special they are in the eyes of the Lord. The scriptures tell us that Jesus had compassion on the people, and in the same way we are to have compassion on those in need and demonstrate the great love that we have received from our Lord. Liberians are celebrating the 161st anniversary of the country on July 26th. May this be a special time of reflection as Liberians realize that our Lord Jesus Christ wants to use them to impact and change the country, Africa and the world. Pray especially for the children that they will know and understand the love that our Lord has for them. The attached file contains some photo of the ministry team from Kingdom Builders Int’l and our children.) David is scheduled to be in Liberia for another couple of weeks. However, there are still some uncompleted tasks. The container with the truck that we shipped has been held at the port for almost 2 months because the shippers completed most of the paperwork wrong and have not paid the fees. We have paid all the fees necessary for our vehicle, but must wait until the problems with the container are resolved. Please pray the Lord delivers the truck to us before David leaves Liberia. Also pray for the orphanage as we are trying to transition the personnel, and also enroll the children in a different school before school starts at the end of August. Also pray for Pastor Nathaniel Wilson as he is visiting with his family for the summer, and returns to the U.S. in August to continue his training at Moody Bible Institute. We also ask your prayers for wisdom as we lead and direct the many facets of the ministry. Thanks again for helping us to complete the assignment that the Lord has given us in Liberia. We cannot do the work alone, but need to prayers, love, encouragement and financial support of others in the body of Christ. If any of you are in the Tampa Bay area and are interested in attending activities for the Liberian Independence Celebration, please let us know. May the Lord richly bless you and your families. In the Lord’s Service, Annette & David

From The Heart Of Missions I am aware that many of you have heard about Ami Ortiz during the Purim holiday in March. A package filled with explosives blew up in his face. Thank God Ami’s life was spared even though he had to undergo several surgeries. As you know Ami is Jewish and one of my colleagues is an Arab, who I will refer to as Brother A. Brother A lives in poverty and has no money to give to help the Ortiz family with medical expenses for Ami. Brother A contacted me and asked me to offer the Ortiz family the only thing that he had. He said to me “I don’t have money to give but I can give what I have such as blood, or any internal organ which Ami might need. This suddenly reminds me of the scripture in John 15:13 “Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends”. Remember that Arabs and Jews are supposed to be political enemies, however the love of Christ supersedes all politics only by the blood of Jesus. Your Brother, Isa Note: |

This word precious means dear, precious valuable, costly, high priced! And that is what you cost! So that is your price and value!

These young men have frequently lost hope and are quite desperate as they reflect on their ruined lives. As a result, they are often very open and
In addition, through the wise use of donated money, we have been able to show the love of Christ in practical ways through the donation of sleeping mats for the prisoners, soap and washing basins for them to use and even medicines for the sick.
There is only ONE secondary school in Region 7 that serves the Akawioh Indians from villages all over the interior. The school houses 400 students and they were to arrive on the MONDAY. 15 students arrived on the Sunday and were put into a dormitory for the night.
